"In 2009 I was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer Stage II and did know where to turn. Being a widow with no children and scattered family I knew I could not get through this challenge without support. I went on the Internet and I looked up breast cancer support groups for the Hanover/York area and found LifeChanges Boutique and its owner Diana Klunk. I very nervously called Diana one day when I had enough courage and was overwhelmed by her friendliness and warmth. She asked me if I would like to come by someday for a visit and just talk. So I made an appointment with her shortly thereafter and my world changed forever. Over the past 1 1/2 years my relationship with Diana as a friend has enriched my life and made me so strong to be able to face things so much easier. She is a very dedicated, beautiful person with strong values about the way a women or man should be treated when diagnosed with cancer. Her boutique brings hope, joy and love to all who stop in. "My name is Sue Maxwell, I am proud to tell you that I am a 4-yes 4- time cancer survivor! Since the age of 26 I began my journey. No support group (back then), no softies after surgery, no kind "pink" note cards or trinkets to remind me of my recovery and hope that I still have, no special cream to keep me soft, no beautiful bras (and panties to match too), no bathing suit, no sexy nightie or warm ones (with prosthetic pockets (because I chose no reconstruction) or light weight prosthesis, or soft gym ones, until one day when I discovered my own LifeChanges! I mean LifeChanges Boutique in Hanover, owned and operated by Diana Klunk! She introduced me to my new lifestyle... my lifestyle which is me, and I love to feel like I used to once again, a different me but a better me. Diana opened the doors in 2008 the 1st of October (Breast Cancer month) and this is the very beginning of my change. Diana is so amazing. She has so much compassion and patience it is truly hard to believe. She understands YOU (me) as an individual! All of our need are different. We all have our individual needs and we all have been pierced by cancer, but I feel Diana has walked us past the negativity of the disease and taken us to the light of our own precious life. Yes with panties and bras, sports bras, nightie's, camisoles, bathing suits, tee shirts and tokens of hope like beautiful handcrafted jewelry and so many beautiful gifts in her gift shop. She has met so many of my needs from her beautiful boutique to support groups, to support our area Dr's. with new patients (what an amazing connecton), taking softies (after surgery t'shirt-so soft and necessary), convenient hours of operation for everyones schedule. Not to mention that I have my sister and friends who have had cancer who are able to call Diana. To be able to call and say. “I need a gift sent with one of your personal cards” is such a relief.
